The Agency HSA's has provide appropriate care for over 35 years to the underserved population (Reducing Disparity in Care) and will take a culturally relevant approach to assessing the severity of substance abuse and identifying the appropriate level of treatment, providing brief interventions focused on increasing insight and awareness regarding substance use and motivation toward behavioral change. We will base our referrals to treatment on these criteria. We focus on the three important areas of Treatment, Training, and Research. His Sheltering Arms focuses on providing the Treatment, Training, Research and Economic Development that will help reduce disparities in treatment for the African American population, and that can set a model for other integrated behavioral health programs.
